WHY WEDDING PHOTOS ARE SO IMPORTANT

Once you've exchanged vows, cut the cake, and danced with your loved ones, reliving your wedding day becomes best achieved by revisiting the captured moments.

Your wedding photograph serves as a time capsule, preserving every beautiful instance from your special day, whether it's the pre-wedding preparations with your bridal party or the first dance with your partner.

We always describe photography as a means to transport you back in time, allowing you to relive memories that may otherwise fade with our memory.

Since reviewing the wedding pictures offers the closest experience to reliving your wedding day, you may be curious about when you'll receive them. Although the timeline varies depending on the photographer, here is the typical duration it takes to receive your wedding photos.

AVERAGE WAIT TIME FOR WEDDING PHOTOS

When you hire your wedding photographer, the delivery date of your images should be specified in their contract. If it isn’t, make that request before signing the contract.

In Quebec and Ontario, the average timeline for delivering wedding photos ranges from 4 to 12 weeks.

However, the timeline can vary based on the time of year when the wedding takes place. During the peak wedding season, which typically spans from May to October, the average waiting time tends to be longer because photographers are busy editing multiple wedding collections simultaneously. On the other hand, for weddings held during the off-season, you can expect to receive your photos within a little quicker.

Regardless of the wedding month, your photographer should keep you informed about the progress of your photos during the editing process.

WEDDING PHOTO SNEAK PEAK

In the first days or week following your wedding, most photographers will provide a few sneak peeks. So even if it takes a bit longer to receive the complete set of photos, you'll have a few key images to share with friends, family, or on social media before the full gallery is ready.

WHY DO WEDDING PHOTOS TAKE SO LONG TO GET BACK?

Many individuals assume that the primary work of wedding photographers occurs during the actual event. However, this is just the beginning of their process. Once they have captured the shots, these professionals devote considerable time to perfecting their craft during the post-production phase.

Considering that your chosen photographer takes thousands of photos on the wedding day, and even more if the celebrations span an entire weekend, a significant amount of time is spent on sifting through the images and selecting the best ones.

The process can be time-consuming because the photographer must meticulously review each of the hundreds of photos and apply artistic edits. This involves adjustments for color, sharpness, contrast, exposure, lighting, and white balance, along with straightening and cropping.

Some photographers (like us) also remove distracting elements like signs in the background or flyaway hairs on the bride's face.

This is why most photographers take at least weeks or months to return full wedding galleries.

BE PATIENT, IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT

If you hired the right wedding photographer, exercise patience, for the outcome will surely justify the delay. Once you lay eyes upon your photos, we am confident that smiles, joy, happiness, and even tears of joy will resurface, as you revisit the most memorable day of your existence.

However, it is totally normal to not want to wait. And so if long wait times to receive you wedding photos is a deal breaker for you, you should find someone who can deliver your images in days, rather than weeks or months.
